Black Ember Boarding Kit (Standard + Mini) Review
"Organized Carry"
The EDC organizer he’ll actually use. Two sizes, so there’s a pick for the guy who carries a little and the guy who carries everything. The materials are the story.
One of the most-clicked things I’ve ever shown you.

What I like
- Two sizes, a big one and a mini.
- Feels milspec. Utilitarian and rugged, with great materials. Ripstop inside and out.
- Easy in and out of the bag, and it comes onto the desk with me. A big square, sit-on-the-table organizer.
- Vertical back pocket for an iPad mini or Kindle, with stretch mesh.
- Padded compartments plus a bunch of elastic loops. Cable, cable, cable, mesh, mesh, mesh.
- External access on the front.
- One of my favorites in this style, mostly for the materials, especially everything on the inside.
Watch for
- Bigger, bulkier footprint. It doesn't stand up like a desk caddy.
- I'd want the tablet pocket more protective than stretch mesh.
- There's a handle. I've never used it as one.
