Bellroy Sling (7L) Review
My favorite entry-level sling, Bellroy’s Sling is thoughtfully conceived and built with delightful, rugged materials. But it’s the simplicity of this bag that keeps me coming back to it.

What I like
- One of my favorite entry-level slings. The simplicity is what keeps me coming back.
- Bellroy materials: woven, water-resistant, scuff-resistant polyester with real leather zip pulls that break in nicely. The premium version feels even nicer, and the regular one still feels premium.
- It expands for capacity, then the strap loop pulls it in and hugs it to your body as you carry.
- Urban, human look. Not too techy, not too outdoorsy.
- Magnetic clip on the strap, thin zip pocket on the front, zippered pocket inside for glasses.
- Best carried minimal: camera, battery, a small pouch, glasses.
Watch for
- The main compartment opens through a small slit. Lots of space inside, but it can be pinchy to get things out.
- No quick cinch on the strap. You set it once and live with it.
- An 11-inch iPad won't fit with it closed. Kindle size, maybe.
- The clip sits off-center, so it wants to go over one particular shoulder.
- Easier to get into when it's off your body.
