Poncho Shirts Review
"Soft + Sharp"
The shirt he wouldn’t buy himself. That’s the whole pitch. He’d never spend it on himself, which is exactly why it’s a gift.
The Marfa is a western-style performance denim shirt. Soft, broken-in feel, stretch, pearl snaps. The Ultra-Lite is their lightest shirt. Breathable, dries in minutes, UPF 50+.
Last year’s Poncho segment was the most-clicked brand in the whole guide.

What I like
- The Marfa denim is the shirt that started it all for me. Feels like you've worn it a hundred times the first time you put it on. Cotton with 1% spandex, the perfect density. Covers my love handles.
- I live in it, even in Texas summers. There's a pearl snap version with western details, in slim and regular cuts. I size up to wear it as a shirt jacket.
- The Ultra-Lite is my summer go-to. Light, stretchy, athletic, and the wrinkles just fall out. The ultimate forgot-I-had-a-Zoom-call shirt.
- Tough Thread is my outdoorsman shirt. Digging holes, week-long hikes. Still looks kind of nice.
- The flannel is soft but durable, with a zip pocket and magnets behind the chest pocket buttons. Works as an overshirt.
- Every button-down has a lens cloth at the hem. Didn't think I'd use it. I use it on my phone all the time.
- I machine wash mine.
