I love how functional a solid rolltop bag can be, and this is one of my favorite rolltop bags.

This Magnetica bag is one of my favorites from them. It’s utterly functional and has some surprisingly useful features (the water resistant liner as separator!?).
A bag like this works excellent for daily carry or for minimal travel… making it one of my favorite kinds of bags to use as my minimal travel bag.

What I like
- Handmade in Canada. 1000D Cordura, bartacks, YKK Aquaguard zips. Built to last.
- You can customize just about every part of it on their site, down to a custom leather patch with your own logo.
- Magnetic clips that find each other and then lock mechanically. Easy one-handed, and they never came undone on me.
- The 'rolltop' is really a flap over the top, so no fiddly rolling every time you go in.
- Compression straps are placed so they never block a zipper.
- The liner is ripstop Cordura and doubles as a separate compartment for wet or dirty stuff.
- Huge capacity. My two to three week travel load plus toiletries and laptop fit with room to spare.
- Rigid back sheet spreads the load, articulated straps, removable sternum strap, optional hip belt.
- Works as both a daily carry and a one-bag travel bag. This one went into my personal collection.
Watch for
- Lots of straps and hang-downs. For pure daily carry I like something cleaner.
- Front quick access pocket has no divider, so things rumble together.
- Side pockets are flat. A water bottle feels floppy in there.
