Aer City Pack Pro 2 Review

"Stable Favorite"

Goldilocks org, super durable.

Super durable, very well organized and designed everyday laptop bag. Worthy of everyday life.

More on the Aer City Pack Pro 2

What I like

  • Beefy, solid and well organized. Of all the great Aer bags, this is the one I tend to prefer.
  • Clamshell opening all the way, with lovely organization in the admin panel. Killer black-on-black look.
  • Comes in 1680D ballistic, Ultra or X-Pac. The ballistic gives it real structure and lasts forever.
  • The internal stretch mesh upgrade was huge. Nice ripstop liner, pen clip, AirTag pocket tucked up inside.
  • Padded laptop compartment pulled up off the bottom of the bag, plus a tall top flap section that's perfect for a tablet or business papers.
  • Thick, contoured, very structured straps, cushy back mesh. Comfy on.
  • Great padded side handles. You just grab it from whichever side is closer.
  • Hypalon pulls with a sticky, silicone-y feel. Main and laptop zips are water sealed; the rest aren't, so they open easily.
  • Every zip pull, handle and laptop grab feels stress tested for daily use.
  • Fits my laptop and tech pouch, plus a jacket, lunch, gym shoes or an overnight's worth of clothes. One of my favorite sizes for an everyday carry bag.

Watch for

  • The bottle pocket needs to be a bit bigger, with gussets at the bottom.
  • The quick access pocket is small. Glasses or AirPods only.
  • The back mesh feels oddly basic for such a decked-out bag (it's comfy, though).
  • The 20L suits smaller frames. I'd probably stick with the 24, though I do like the 20. Bigger guys may want the 28.
  • On the original City Pack Pro, the magnetic sternum strap clipped itself together, and wide necks may feel the thick straps.

Specs

  • 24L (also 20L), 18 x 12.5 x 7 in, fits a 16" laptop
  • 2.86-2.9 lb
  • 1680D Cordura ballistic nylon (bluesign, also X-Pac or Ultra400X), ripstop liner, YKK zips (AquaGuard on main/laptop), Duraflex hardware, Hypalon accents

Protection, material delight, and the side-door access this bag offers are really what define the Peak Design Everyday Backpack. The shell material is tough, weather-resistant, and has that really premium feel Peak Design is known for. Fk'n love the clip version (I used to be a fan of the zip, now i'm clippy).

Sleek AF.

One that I've gone to again and again. Super unique shape, both clean and utilitarian in style, but the way it's laid out makes it really satisfying to use day to day. Great access and organization without the bag ever feeling busy.
