What I like

• I vastly prefer this update over the original Errant. A great commit-to-it kind of bag.
• The front flap closes with a strong magnet now, instead of the old clips. I leave the top open and just flap it shut.
• About 30% lighter than the original, in updated materials.
• Softer, more contoured straps with binding on the inside, kind of an edgeless vibe.
• Hidden back pocket now runs all the way across.
• The tech compartment goes all the way down and fits a notebook perfectly. Key leash clip inside.
• Burly perforated stretch mesh, ripstop liner, water-sealed YKK zips, paracord pulls.
• The half-zip main compartment flops right down for great visibility.

Watch for

• The shoe compartment is gone (I never used it).
• The Nywool lining from the original is gone. I loved it, but it added weight.
• Exterior bottle pockets are taut with a 36 oz bottle and take up some capacity.
• I'd take an even stronger flap magnet.
