What I like

• Soft-hard hybrid. A thin, technical Versa shell (almost like waxed Cordura) over a hard shell. Water sealed zips.
• That carbon fiber trolley. Blade thin, almost no jiggle, and slightly tapered so it fills the space when it clicks in. Best on the market by a long shot. Two height stops.
• The thin trolley barely eats into your packing space.
• Drawbridge opening. The lid hinges down from the top and holds with friction hinges, so your footprint is just the bag. No clamshell sprawl.
• One deep bucket, with little paracord holders to keep stuff in place.
• Four handles, including one behind the wheels. Scuff guards on the back for laying it down conveyor-belt style.
• 60mm wheels designed in-house. Rollerblade soft, and easy to replace.
• Snap-tent laptop sleeve with a magnetic flap right on the front. Big stretch mesh top pocket for snacks, phone, battery, AirPods, passport.
• They didn't assign a job to every pocket. That simplicity feels really good here.
• Felted interior, zips that pull to one spot and lock, lifetime warranty.

Watch for

• Heavy at around 8.5 to 8.8 lb empty.
• Expensive.
• The expansion is modest, an inch to two.
• With my 16" MacBook, the laptop tent doesn't close over it on its own.
• It's a spinner. It can roll away on a slope or a moving tram, and there's no wheel brake.
