Moment Everything Backpack (17L + 21L + 28L) Review
"Simple. Minimal. Tight."
Gorgeous simplicity, looks good for a long time.
The Everything Backpack replaced Moment’s Travelwear (MTW) backpack. Same simple, clean look for a techy daily carry, with better materials: 420D ripstop nylon that doesn’t pick up lint, oil or dirt, water-sealed zips, a rigid frame sheet and that swooping water bottle pocket. Comes in 17L, 21L and 28L. The 21L is my pick for daily carry; the 28L goes full clamshell with a full camera cube.
More on the Moment Everything Backpack (17L + 21L + 28L)
What I like
- Simplicity with the right amount of tech. Gorgeous, and it looks good for a long time.
- The materials are the takeaway: 420D ripstop nylon that feels rugged, resists abrasion, and doesn't pick up lint, pet hair, oil or dirt. Welded, folded-over details and water-sealed zips.
- That swooping water bottle pocket out of the front. My 32 oz bottle fits with a little maneuvering.
- Rigid frame sheet and a stiff air-mesh back panel with a center channel. Luggage pass-through.
- Simple, contoured straps that I dig.
- Laptop compartment with tablet space and mesh admin pockets. The laptop sits up off the bottom.
- Secret back pocket that's perfect for a passport (21L and 28L).
- Camera cubes go in and out easily, feel protective for how thin they are, and don't jiggle around.
- The 28L opens full clamshell and takes a full camera cube. Slides under the airplane seat with everything I need for a shoot.
- The 21L is my pick for daily carry. Perfect size, perfect simplicity.
Watch for
- The flat front pocket is small. My phone fits and not much else.
- The 17L skips the sternum strap, the secret pocket and the stretchy performance mesh pockets.
- The 28L is right on the edge of too big for me.
- Earlier Travelwear version: it carried tight, and the water bottle pocket was too tight for me some of the time.
Specs
- 17L, 21L and 28L (17L: 26.5 x 42 x 14 cm, fits a 14-inch laptop plus a large tablet)
- 1.5 lb (680 g) for the 17L
- 420D high-density micro ripstop nylon with double PU coating, YKK AquaGuard zippers
